    Classic read

    Great book.
A very good read and massively enlightening. The explanations that go with each of the “rules” help to mentally picture and place each “rule”.

    Shame war exists
Small but packed with information on how to plan a war etc.

    Good book
There are parts of this that go over my head, others parts actually have practical advice.

    It’s ok, I suppose
You know, after hearing so many references to this book over the years I though I would get a copy and frankly would have expected it to be better. This particular translation is not great either. I mean, it’s still pretty cheap, I didn’t hesitate but I would have probably just gone to the library if I had had the foresight.

    A must read
Timeless. True when it was written as true as it is today. This is the most read book in prisons for a reason. Coz it’s a continuous battle. And this book tells u how to win it. I highly recommend this book. Even tho it’s easily found free online, it’s still an important piece to have in ur library. This version is well produced, nice illustrations and big fonts, detailed in numbered paragraphs makes it easier to highlight and remember. Spoiler alert: if u wait long enough by the riverbank, the bodies of ur enemies will start floating by.

This translation of Sun Tzu’s Art of War is a very interesting read. On the one hand it can be read simply as a historical document that tells of warfare in the Iron Age. On the other hand, while the technology of warfare has changed immensely, the principles Sun Tau writes of are still true today. For he did not write to encourage rulers to always seek war, but known when not to fight as well. I quote “There is no instance of a country having benefited from prolonged warfare.” He wrote of one who knew warfare and was ready to fight but knew all too well that war could mean the end of his country, if it was the wrong choice to start a war. He knew the horrors of war and did not wish people to blind seek war, but weigh the pros and cons knowing the high cost of losing a war would like mean one’s life, but still being ready if the need was there to fight. I recommend this book for people interested in history or philosophy.
